A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or what kind of car I drove; however, the world will be different because I was important in the life of a child.

JET SPORTS was established in the late 1990's to provide extra curricular programs for children in the Central Florida area. Prior to our existence schools across the nation began cutting sports programs from their budget due to changing laws and raising insurance expenses. Sports programs for elementary students were dropped completely or farmed out to private businesses whose prime concerns were most often not those of the children. As a result the fitness level of elementary children took a dramatic plunge dropping further then those from 10 years earlier when the Presidents Council on Physical Fitness considered the situation critical. Today NBC reports that over nine million teenage students are dangerously obese. JET Sports' approach to this problem is based on one strongly held premise. Our board, schools, parents, and sponsors believe absolutely nothing is more important than our children.

Students who participate in this program enjoy a safe environment where they can learn skills without the heavy pressure of intense competition. Family members step up to help in several ways. Many are coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, photographers, or fund raisers. JETS helps these parents learn the best way possible to provide a program that is fun for their child, while at the same time safe and educational.

85% of all contributions from our sponsors go directly to the youth sports program. These funds help provide equipment, scholarships, and uniforms as well as assisting to cover operating expenses, field rentals, and insurance for our children. 15% of contributions cover administration expenses, such as continuing education courses and salaries.

From a modest start in the mid 1990's with only 12 children and one school JETS has grown to over a thousand athletes, several thousand alumni, and countless parents and grandparents. Many of the schools in our program have been added as a result of recommendations from parents & contributors who believe in the goals of the JET Sports program.

As our numbers have grown so have our expenses. It is our hope that as people learn about the JETS program more and more will join in to help us achieve our goals, support our young athletes, and spread our message across the nation.
